Robert McDonald

Dr. Robert McDonald is Lead Scientist for Nature-Based Solutions and Lead Scientist for Europe at The Nature Conservancy. He researches the impact and dependencies of communities on the natural world, studying how nature can increase resilience in the face of climate change and improve human health and well-being. He holds a PhD in Ecology from Duke University and has published more than 100 scientific publications and two books. Prior to joining the Conservancy, he taught landscape ecology at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, helping architects and planners incorporate ecological principles into their projects.
